If you own a Yamaha T700 and have any interaction with other T700 riders you’ll have heard the loud complaints about the soft rear brake. At the moment my personal T700 is used more on road than off it but coming from a dirt-bike background I’ve always used the rear brake extensively, on-road and off. The “problem” (at least for some of us) is the distance the rear pedal needs to travel before fully engaging the brake is simply too far and that gives a mushy and rather un-responsive result. Fortunately for us, our friends at Camel-ADV have been beavering away for the last 12 months to find a fix and it seems that once again they’ve cracked it, with what they have aptly named “The Fix”!

Once they begin to ship a pedal will arrive with me here on the Isle of Wight and will be immediately fitted to the Overland Rider T700 and a review will be quickly forthcoming. I have to say, Camel-ADV’s products are always top notch and I have no doubt this one will be any different but do check back as I’ll be covering a lot of what this pedal addresses on the streets and roads when touring, as well. In the meantime, Cory has done a great video which comprehensively explains the problems with the stock design and how Camel ADV have addressed those.

“The Fix” is available for pre-order now and is due to begin shipping in early November.
