The chain guard on my T700 was fine.. “Plastic” but fine! So why did I replace it with a raw silver aluminium guard from Rugged Roads? Purely cosmetic geekness, if I’m completely honest. Does the chain guard need to be metal instead of plastic? Nope! Was the plastic one prone to breaking? Nope! Was it overly ugly? Nope! Is the Rugged Roads one seriously better looking? Damn right it is and that’s why I shelled […]

AVON TREKRIDERS OR TRAILRIDERS
I’ve been mulling lately my next tyre choice. I’ve a few thousand miles left on my stock tyres but thought I’d begin investigating. On a couple of road bikes I’ve run Avon Cobras and they really endeared me to the Avon brand so I thought I’d take a look at their adventure bike range and they do, indeed, seem to have a couple of good options, namely the more off-road orientated TrekRider: and the 90/10 […]
Read MoreC-RACER TO INTRODUCE NEW YAMAHA TENERE 700 BEAK EXTENSION
Looks like C-Racer in Greece will be releasing a beak extension for the Tenere 700 shortly, according to the teaser video they released a few how’s ago.. I’ve used their products several times, most notably on a Suzuki SV650 and the quality was good. Not cheap kit but you get what you pay for, I guess. It’ll be interesting to see the final product. So I’ve unboxed and “reviewed” the MotoPressor Pocket Pump and now it’s time to install it into my 2020 Yamaha Tenere 700. Here’s a quick video showing how I hardwired it in and where I positioned it under the seat. Anyone who knows me is forced to accept my somewhat anal attitude towards jobs like these. I do like things to be done right, even if it causes me to work much slower than I’d often like. The decals I received a week ago are no exception.. Progress is slow but I am finally moving forward and think I half know what I’m doing for a change.. This morning I got the two side panels […]
Read MoreMOTOPRESSOR POCKET PUMP VALVE ADAPTERS
Following the unboxing review of the MotoPressor Pocket pump I published yesterday, it occurred to me (and a few FaceBook readers) that when on the road touring you often need to pump up air mattresses and other stuff over and above tyres, so a set of adapters to that end would be useful. After a little research this £5.99 set from Amazon popped up and looked just the job. Today they arrived. In the bag […]

I’ve just received this tiny MotoPressor Pocket Pump and Inline Tyre Gauge so I thought I’d do a little unboxing and show you what’s inside. The two pieces can be bought separately or bundled together but come in their own boxes. To give you an idea of the size, the larger box is only about 6 x 5 inches. Inside the smaller box we have the Inline Tyre Gauge. I’ve not yet tested either of […]

Just in the process of installing these decals. They’re produced and printed by Crispy Designs and I have to say Christian has gone above and beyond to help me get the bike how I want it. My workshop is too narrow to work on the bike. Works for storing the bike but at less than 2 metres wide it’s not ideal for working on it so I’m just waiting on a nice sunny day to […]

In the winter months I like to keep the battery in top shape by connecting it to a trickle charger. Obviously if you get to ride every day it’s not necessary but I tend to be too busy during the week so riding normally happens at the weekend. I’ve used a TC on all my bikes and it’s meant I’ve never had any probs with the batteries draining. This is the one I use as […]

No-one had the raw aluminium extension plate in stock in the UK so I had to settle for the black. The black really annoyed my autistic nature, however, so yesterday I removed the black coating with a finger grinder and Dremel and then sanded it smooth with wet sand paper. Put it all back together and finally I have what I was after! The plate works brilliantly but if I had some 5mm aluminium plate I […]
